Ani: The Fool Card

The Book of Going Forth By Day (also called The Book of the Dead) is a personalized book of magic designed to help the reader’s ka (soul) travel through the Duat (the underworld) to reach Aaru (Paradise). The best-preserved copy of the Book of Going Forth By Day found is the personal copy owned by the scribe Ani. In classic tarot, the Fool Card (or Card 0) represents the protagonist, the hero, on a journey into the unknown. The Ani card depicts the hero beginning his journey into the unknown realm of the Duat. He carries with him only his scroll and a bag of scribal tools, representing his knowledge and his copy of The Book of Going Forth By Day. There are plenty of hazards along his path, and plenty of adventure along the way, but he must avoid being reckless in his travels.
