Weret-Hekau: Heka-Magic

At the beginning of all things, Amun-Ra created himself from the watery abyss of Nun, and his act of self-creation also created magic power, manifested in the form of the god Heka. The cobra goddess Weret-Hekau controls Heka; she directs Heka’s magical energies through the power of her own will and the proper invocation of “words of power.”

The Weret-Hekau card represents the most powerful form of pure heka magic: pure supernatural power direct from the source, words of power, and of course the raw will-power, focus, and strong direction needed to invoke and control heka magic. You can think of Weret-Hekau as the power source behind the Sorceress, like a super-charged heka battery.
