Nut: The Star
Nut is the Egyptian goddess of the sky and the cosmos. A maternal deity, she is the mother of the Neteru Ausar, Set, Aset, Nebet-Het, and Heru (the Elder). She is often represented in Egyptian hieroglyphs with an elongated body arched across the heavens. In these depictions, she swallows Amun-Ra on his solar barge the Atet each night, and after traversing through her body overnight, he is reborn each morning.
Themes
Just as Nut provides the means for Amun-Ra and his Atet solar barge to be resurrected each night, the Nut Star card represents renewal. The Nut card is associated with rejuvenation, purpose, hope, faith and spiritual guidance. Her maternal nature imbues the card with feminine power, beauty, and maternal instinct.
