Mace Warrior: Warrior of Scepters

The hetch, or mace, was widely used in combat by the Kemetic military. In royal rituals it served as a ceremonial scepter, creating a direct liturgical link between the pharaoh and his military. The Narmer Scorpion macehead, for instance, is a decorative stone macehead documenting the conquests of King Narmer. The royal hetch was often found in the tombs of royalty, as well as the rich and nobles.
