Heka is the Kemetic word for magic, and the name of the Neteru who represents its the physical incarnation of magic. Weret-Hekau means “words of power“, and is a reference to the power of language, both written and spoken, to invoke and control heka. Weret-Hekau is also the name of the Kemetic cobra-goddess who embodies that power.
