Ptah is a creator god, a demiurge, who willed himself into existence. Through his sheer will he created all reality, and with the thoughts of his heart and the magic of his words he commanded reality to produce all of nature. A cosmic god, Ptah preserves the world.

Ptah, the divine patron and inspiration of architects, metalworkers, carpenters, shipbuilders, and craftsmen of all trades, can be seen in the fire of the blacksmith’s forge. Ptah is regarded as the father of the great polymath physician-writer-architect-high priest-magician Imhotep.
