sekhem scepter

The word “sekhem” means “power”, and the sekhem scepter is a symbol of power. It combines two other types of ritual scepters into its form: the kherp scepter (the “controller” scepter) and the aba scepter (the “commander” scepter). The head of the scepter resembles a flat paddle. The symbol for sekhem was incorporated into many words and names; for instance Sekhmet means “she who is powerful.”
